Item Description
Tan smithsonite has pseudomorphed sharp dogtooth calcite scalenohedrons on this sculptural, rich and showy mounded replacment from this famous Santa Eulalia mine. The pseudos reach 3.0 cm. The bruised and broken crystals reveal that these are smithsonite epimorphs or shells, with hollow interiors visible. The piece has several fine display views and the vuggy matrix, with scattered pyrite is interesting in itself. Older classic material from the 1999-2000 finds. Ex Ken Roberts Collection.
