A unique specimen of rich pink smithsonite from this classic locality, probably from the 1990s finds here by Benny Fenn but possibly even older from the 1960s when similar material came out. It is a complete pocket or vug of thick, rich smithsonite coating the matrix! This is a REALLY unusual, impressive look and the piece has a presence to it that these seldom have. Most examples present as rounded surfaces on flat plates. Photos speak for themselves! And, at 1500 grams, this is not small and has a big presence. An old classic, in spectacularly showy form, that looks good horizontally or vertically (if mounted in a custom base). Valued $7500.
