Beautiful set of a eight, intergrown, spherical crystals of Smithsonite set on a plate of sky blue Aurichalcite. The Smithsonites are a classic green-blue, with an attractive texture to the surface of the crystals. The color is complemented nicely by good translucence, and the crescent-shaped ring of .8 cm Smithsonites adds greatly to the aesthetics as it sits up on one corner of the plate. Kelly Smithsonites are world-renowned, and this very fine miniature is highly desirable. With the Kelly Mine long-closed, demand for these hard to get specimens is high.
