Item Description
Pretty seafoam-blue, waxy luster, translucent, bubbly smithsonite botryoids cover matrix on this classic, showy old-timer from the ancient mines at Lavrion. The old label on the certainly dates the piece. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 3370 and acquired from prominent East Coast dealer, John Albanese, probably in the early to mid 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A fine colored Lavrion smithsonite.
