An exceptional, old-time, CABINET, smithsonite specimen from the ancient mines at Laurium, Greece. Sculptural vugs in the boxwork matrix are totally lined with beautiful, translucent, sky-blue, smithsonite botryoids with waxy luster. This is easily one of the very best large Lavrion smithsonites for sheer color, with excellent aesthetics, that we have offered at auction or even seen on the general market. the color is MUCH more rich than modern material from the same mine. Ex Robert Linck (1905-1970) Collection and comes with an old, faded Ward's label as well. valued $1800-2000
