Item Description

A beautiful manganese-bearing pink/purplish-pink Smithsonite specimen from Tsumeb featuring several gemmy/translucent, sharp, lustrous, rhombohedral crystals on matrix. The crystals themselves are not especially large, but they have excellent luster and a rare and very eye-catching color. Smithsonite from Tsumeb is one of the most classic species from what is arguably the greatest locality in the history of minerals. It is certainly different from most Tsumeb Smithsonites that I have seen, and the crystals have a bit of "phantom" zoning on top of the unique color!
