The Berg Aukas Mine of Namibia has produced the world's finest descloizite specimens, but has also produced outstanding smithsonites and this is an excellent miniature. Nifty intergrown clusters of very sharp, highly lustrous, gemmy, brown to amber, bladed smithsonite rhombs comprise this showy piece. Brown and amber bladed smithsonite rhombs of this color and form are uncommon from here. Older material, probably from the 1970s. Ex Paul Heise and Eugene Carmichael Collections. Comes with a Charlie Key label, when he lived in Little Falls, New Jersey.
