Item Description
Some of the finest examples of Smithsonite are those from the famous Santa Eulalia Mining District in Mexico. This piece is from the famous El Potosi Mine and features beautiful, fine quality, translucent, highly resinous, gorgeous "water" green colored spherical groups of Smithsonite on contrasting host rock matrix. The piece is in excellent condition, with the exception of a contacted area near the base. It displays wonderfully as you can see, and the quality is really impressive, especially in terms of the high glistening luster. Valued at $800. From the collection of Gary Weaver of Prescott, Arizona (1944-2019). Gary was an electrical engineer who worked for many years for Hughes Aircraft in California.
