Item Description
Smithsonite from Lavrion is not terribly common on the market, and pieces like this are certainly hard to find. I've seen several pieces of blue Smithsonite from this locality, but green is rare in my experience. This specimen consists of layered / banded light and rich green colored resinous Smithsonite on host rock matrix. The piece comes wih a label from Gene Sensel who states that it was purchased from Dick Hauck who personally obtained the piece at Lavrion during a visit in July 1979. Great color and a cool formation from this historic locality.
