When somebody mentions blue Smithsonite, most collectors immediately think of the famous Kelly mine in New Mexico which has produced some of the most oustanding specimens of the species extant. This piece features notably lustrous/vitreous, soft blue-gr color radiating aggregates of Smithsonite on oxidized. The largest "ball" measures 1.2 cm across. A wonderful display specimen of this highly sought after classic US material. Good quality all around, save the area which were exposed / contacted when the piece was removed from the pocket wall.
