Item Description
Beautiful, velvety, fine lavender colored botryoidal Smithsonite covers the underlying matrix on this showy classic specimen from Choix. The almost "wet" luster combined with the slight translucency of the Smithsonite makes it a good quality and eye-catching example of what are some of the most sought after and colorful Smithsonites from any world locality. The largest Smithsonite "ball" measures about 6 mm across, but they're difficult to measure individually. Valued at $650. From the collection of Gary Weaver of Prescott, Arizona (1944-2019). Gary was an electrical engineer who worked for many years for Hughes Aircraft in California. You can read Gary's obituary here https://www.dcourier.com/news/2019/apr/27/obituary-gary-richard-weaver/
