Item Description
The Tsumeb Mine in Namibia will always be remembered as one the premier localities for Smithsonite specimens. This prestigious mine produced wide array of specimens, with various chromophores that created many different colors ranging from green to yellow to orange to pink with plenty of other in between. Some of the most enticing and attractive cobalt-bearing Smithsonite specimens ever found are those from Tsumeb. This piece is filled with beautiful, vitreous, compressed, pale pink color cobalt-bearing Smithsonite crystals measuring up to 1.0 cm, sitting on matrix. Good quality and very eye-catching, with some minor bruising in areas, but still very good quality overall. As you all know, Tsumeb minerals are not only highly sought after, but their value has increased over the years, as this mine is considered by many to be the greatest mineral locality in history.
