A nifty mounded corsage of nearly transparent, glassy, light gray, dogtooth smithsonite crystals (some doubly terminated) is jauntily set on starkly contrasting gossan matrix on this showy and excellent miniature from this famous locale. This is a relatively uncommon smithsonite form for Broken Hill. The few, hardly noticeable broken crystals in the display are certainly not a detraction. Classic older material from the Bob Trimingham Collection and obtained 1980. From the Ralph W. Dietz Collection, according to the label
