Item Description
Sharp, lustrous, translucent, greenish-tan, smithsonite rhombs are aesthetically clustered on the matrix crust covered with sparkly drusy smithsonite on this showy and unusual style from famed Tsumeb. The rhombs, to 1.2 cm, have frosted, stepped-growth prisms dramatically accented with glassy modifield edges. A most unusual older smithsonite style from Tsumeb. The matrix also includes sulfides. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 6943 and acquired from Kristalle in June, 1973. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
