Item Description
Pretty robins egg-blue bubbly botryoidal smithsonite on this beautiful small cabinet banded crust from the famous ancient mines at Lavrion. The matte smithsonite is nicely translucent. Excellent material from the Kay Robertson Collection # 6088 and acquired at Tucson in 1970. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). This is a classic and desirable blue color for Lavrion smithsonite.
