An incredible, old-time, CABINET, smithsonite specimen from the ancient mines at Laurium, Greece. Vugs on all sides of this amazingly sculptural boxwork piece are totally lined with translucent, pastel-blue, botryoidal, smithsonite. The Laurium mines were called "ancient" in the time of the Classical Greeks. This is easily one of the very best large Laurium smithsonites, with excellent aesthetics, that we have offered at auction. Ex Mullane Collection.
