Item Description

The famous extinct Pb-Zn-Ag Broken Hill Mine of Zambia, opened in 1906 and closed in about 1989 is famous for the rare zinc phosphates Hopeite, Parahopeite and Tarbuttite and excellent Pyromorphite and Smithsonite specimens. Glassy, gemmy, straw-yellow scalenohedrons, to about 1.3 cm, richly and attractively cover the small cabinet matrix plate jackstraw-style. Specimens of this high quality, style and richness could have been recovered from the 1930s to 1970s. An outstanding rich and RARE smithsonite fairly valued at $1200. Try to find another like it.
