Item Description

Juicy waxy luster, translucent, pretty two-toned blue bubbly smithsonite botryoids are attractively mounded on the matrix on this impressive and sculptural specimen from this noted locale. Beautiful baby-blue botryoids rest atop gray-blue botryoids. A bit of contacting, where other botryoids once lay are noted, but there is no damage, per se. This is fine older material, from the 1970s or 80s, from the El Refugio Mine at Choix. Classic material from this mined out locale, that was documented in a 2011 Mineralogical Record Special Issue.
