Item Description
Fine smithsonite specimens are rare from the famous and extinct Mammoth-Saint Anthony Mine at Tiger. Translucent, satin luster botryoids and rice grains are richly and aesthetically clustered on the undulating miniature matrix on this very fine older example with two styles of crystallization. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 3821 and acquired in December, 1964. Previously in the E.P. Mattison Collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Choice, showy and rare smithsonite material from this classic Arizona locale.
