Smithsonite (cadmian) on Tennantite

This is a delightful, highly representative Smithsonite colored yellow by cadmian content within, one of Tsumeb's most sought-after species. Gemmy and up to 9 mm on edge, these curved rhombs have the the silky, striated faces that we have all come to love, and the luster and gemminess only serve to enhance the attractive, peachy-tan color. Sitting perfectly on the contacted base, the Tennantite knob is richly covered by the Smithsonites, so that no matter how you rotate it 360 degrees you have an aesthetic, classic view. A highly unusual example for aesthetics, of this rare yellow smithsonite varietal.
