Item Description
A beautiful, classic Smithsonite specimen from one of the most impressive and famous localities in the world. This piece is filled with sharp, gemmy, scalenohedral crystals of Smithsonite with an eye-catching vitreous luster, and wonderful form. In reflected light, the Smithsonites have a smoky brown hue, but when backlit, the crystals show a beautiful golden-orange shade. The crystals, which measure up to 1.4 cm, are actually sitting on matrix, and the piece can be displayed from several angles. There is even one crystal group on the piece that resembles a pineapple! A really cool, distinctive and great quality Smithsonite from Tsumeb.
