Item Description

From one of the most classic Colorado localities, we have a great secondary ore association specimen. This piece features several gemmy, blue-green, scalenohedral "rice grain" shaped crystals of Smithsonite with bluish spherical Rosasite aggregates associated golden Dolomite on matrix. I know its not what you typically expect from a Colorado specimen, and this material is exceptionally rare from this mine. It is possible that the Rosasite on this piece may be Zincrosasite, but it has not been analyzed to confirm its identity. From a find over 30 years ago, and good quality for the locality and Colorado in general.
