Item Description
Fine, and quite unusual, Smithsonite specimen from a smaller mine near the Daye Iron Mine area in China. These crystalline botryoids are up to 1 cm in diameter. They have gently lineated surfaces that reflect their growth, and a frosted luster that complements the translucent to gemmy interiors. Almost pumpkin-like in form, as if they were classic Smithsonite rice grains on steroids, these crystals line up on the matrix like a string of pearls, creating a beautiful aesthetic for this rare specimen from old finds of the early 2000s.
