Item Description
Sublime, and delicate sea foam blue-green spheres of Smithsonite decorate a glistening, drusy Hemimorphite coated matrix from the Skorpion zinc mine in Namibia. The satin lustered Smithsonite spheres occur as isolated balls and as loosely aggregated clusters from 3 to 5 mm in size. The Smithsonites are just a lovely, translucent sea foam blue-green and contrast nicely with the colorless to white Hemimorphite that forms a dense carpet of 1 to 2 mm bladed crystals that envelopes the gray limestone matrix. This beautiful small cabinet piece is sawn at and around the bottom to improve displayability. Specimens like this were briefly available circa 2010-2013 when a large collection came to market and were valued $750-1000 at the time.
