Item Description
Smithsonite from Tsumeb is found in virtually every color of the rainbow, and it remains on the most prolific species from this most significant locality. This specimen displays a bright yellow-green color that could be caused by copper, cadmium or another chromophore. The crystals actually have a bit of zoning with a "phantom" effect from the exterior to the interior The rhombs are lustrous, translucent and well-formed with lovely modifications on the edges and corners. They really look beautiful up close. The largest crystal meaures 1.1 cm. Good quality, and a really nice miniature of this classic material.
