Juicy, bubbly, botryoidal, tranlucent, pretty pink smithsonite envelopes both sides of the core of this sculptural, curved, classic specimen from the El Refugio Mine at Choix, Mexico. Old - 1960s or 1970s vintage. Excellent and classic material from this essentially mined out locale, that was documented in a 2011 Mineralogical Record Special Issue. The two layers of iron oxides add color, form and character to this piece. This piece could REALLY be improved with a good cleaning!
