Item Description

Classic, juicy "Kelly-blue" bubbly smithsonite botryoids cover the front of this sculptural 2-generation boxwork specimen from the famous Kelly Mine. The side view reveals layered vugs lined with a starkly contrasting second generation of sparkly green smithsonite botryoids on blue smithsonite and silicified limestone. Shapely unusual 2-generation 2-color smithsonite from the Kelly. See the 1989 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 20, No. 1. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum.
