Smithsonite

Item Description

Glassy, lustrous, translucent, smoky, smithsonite crystals are richly and aesthetically set in the sculptural, sintered-looking matrix on this showy and excellent specimen from the famous and now-closed Tsumeb Mine. Several of the scalenohedral crystals are doubly terminated, including the largest at 1.5 cm. Classic Tsumeb material from 1978. The Prosper Williams label says cerussite, but this is defintely smithsonite.
