Smithsonite

The famous Kelly Mine in New Mexico has produced so much smithsonite over the years, since at least the early 1900s; but each year or decade or pocket has been a little different in style. This specimen seems to be a mid-1900s style, not the oldest and not the more recent material, although it is difficult to say with certainty. This is a large massive specimen with a rich pocket of rounded crystals of moderate blue-green color. (It is a huge display area with a nice color and shimmering appearance, although the buyer needs to note some small damages, particularly on periphery.)
