Item Description
Juicy, translucent, satiny luster, blue-green smithsonite botryoids line vugs and seams in the sculptural large brecciated, silicified limestone matrix on this classic large specimen from the famous Kelly Mine. This large display specimen with intense color saturation and high luster is excellent in those regards, although it is a little mixed with the matrix and not freestanding - that also, of course, makes it different than many specimens that are simply off and detached from matrix. So there is a nice color contrast, to the matrix here. Overall, with the color and size impact, it is a fine large example of this color varietal from the noted locale, probably from the 1960s-1980s era of mining.
