Skutterudite (sharp xls) & Calcite

Item Description

Splendent, sharp, silver-metallic skutterudite crystals are richly and aethetically clustered and isolated on the contrasting blocky massive calcite matrix. The prominent, well-placed compound crystal is 3.8 cm across and the impressive large single crystal on the edge is 2.8 cm. Many of the isometric crystals have typically curved faces. All the crystals in the interior are pristine. The famous Co-Ni deposits are Bou Azzer have produced what are considered the world's finest specimens of the Co-arsenide and this is a very fine example from the famous Vein No. 7.
