Item Description
A 2.0 cm, splendent, sharp, silver-gray skutterudite crystal is nicely set in the massive skutterudite matrix from Bou Azzer, Morocco. These are considered to be the world's finest for this uncommon nickel species and you can see why. Older material. Ex Al Ordway Collection # 0211 and traded from geologist Demetrius Pohl in 1969, a well known African specialist and collector. A 2007 issue of the Mineralogical Record issue is devoted entirely to Bou Azzer. The base and back have been sawed to enhance the display. The photos do not do justice to the brilliance of the crystal. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
