Item Description

A very attractive small cabinet display specimen featuring a predominant, 2.0 cm! sharp, metallic, lustrous, very well-formed, modified, octahedral / cubic crystal with a bright silvery-white coloration with Calcite on matrix. These are some of the best example of Skutterudite in the world for what they are, and to find a crystal this size is quite notable, as they are almost NEVER seen in such fine crystallized examples with smooth, sharp faces. The piece is not without damage, but the main crystal is undamaged on the display side (slight contact on the back), but you can't dismiss it due to the size of the main crystal. The piece comes from the Collection of Charlotte Avers by way of Herb Obodda's dealer stock. Valued at $1000.
