Item Description
An incredibly hard to find association specimen from this lesser-known mine (phosphoria formation) in Idaho. The piece hosts micro crystals of golden bladed Sincosite, a rare calcium vanadate phosphate species, named in 1922 after a locality called Sincos in Peru, along with dark olive-green cubic crystals of Phosphovanadylite-(Ca), a calcium vanadate species, on matrix. The crystals are best seen up close, and we've photographed them with a macro lens to better illustrate their quality. Nearly impossible to find on the market now, so if you collect rare minerals, don't miss out. Additionally, the South Rasmussen Ridge Mine is the type locality for Phosphovanadylite-(Ca), so you have an added bonus along with the rarity of the species. Ex Colin Manlove collection.
