What a unique piece and style of silver! This is old material from a classic Mexican silver mine location. A tabular vein of Silver slices right through its Bornite host and features prominently on this incredibly sculptural piece! The iridescent, metallic blue-gray Bornite is a large, angular mass that dominates the bottom almost two-thirds of the piece. The Native Silver is an elongate (13.5 cm long) and thin (1 mm), irregularly edged and geometrically interesting veinlet that transects the Bornite and then protrudes above the piece resulting in a very well balanced structurally interesting piece! LARGE and dramatic - where else can you get such huge presentation specimens of plate silver for a good price? Old material. We have seen these at some dealer's booths from time to time valued very highly, as well. This is large and dramatic, and should command $2500-plus retail.
