Item Description
Aspen silvers are among the RAREST and most desirable Colorado localities for the species, due to the remoteness of the mines and that primary production was over prior to World War I. That said, this is a very cute 360-degree thumbnail composed solidly of silver wires. The sculptural pyramidal piece is dramatically crowned by an 8 mm cluster of larger, beautifully curved and curled wires with a fine patina. The rest of the piece is tiny densley intergrown silver wires with an acanthite coating. Silver specimens from here are rare, seldom on the market and are very highly sought-after by Colorado collectors. From the Kay Robertson Collection.
