Item Description
A SUPERB, elegant and RARE wire silver miniature from the small 2005 find at a very obscure mine at famed Guanajuato. A gorgeous sculptural cluster of curled and curved silver wires and a rope with a light acanthite coating dramatically rises up from the calcite matrix. This exceptional piece has outstanding 360-degree presence, from the curled and curved wires to the stout rope. The small piece of calcite attached to a wire adds much pizzazz. It looks like a very fine Kongsberg silver with calcite. These are some of the finest Mexican wire silvers. Ex Dave Stoudt Mexico Collection and purchased in 2005. Priced at $5000 by the former dealer, the piece is now fairly valued at $7000-8000.
