Item Description
VERY RARE old-time nearly solid native silver from this obscure mine in the famed Aspen District. The sculptural 5-sided miniature is composed of nicely burnished, mostly hackly to subhedral silver. Scattered black inclusions, adding contrast, may be acanthite or shale. MINDAT does not feature any photos of specimens from this mine. The former dealer label indicates the piece dates to the circa 1880s and is from the Goodsell Collection. 35 grams mass. Aspen was remote during its heyday. Silver specimens from here are very uncommon and are very highly sought-after by Colorado collectors.
