Item Description
Kongsbergite is a rare variety of Silver with about 5% Mercury and is named after the famous Kongsberg silver mines in Norway. Specimens are RARE from the well-known Imiter silver mine in Morocco. This sculptural and aesthetic vein or fracture filling has rich lustre and patina, along with fine form. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 11625 and acquired from French dealer Alain Carion at the 1988 MSSC Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). An exceptional example of the rare species and locale.
