Item Description

A nice thumbnail specimen in the form of a "leaf"-like plate of Kongsbergite from an uncommon for the species German locale - the Glasberg Quarry, Nieder-Beerbach, Odenwald, Hesse. Kongsbergite is the mercury-bearing variety (about 5%) of Silver and is certainly rare worldwide. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11741). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
