Item Description

This particular silver specimen comes from a famous old specimen deposit in Spain that probably was found and worked for silver back in Roman times as well, and has been partially etched out of white calcite which in turn, has been emplaced on a light gray limestone. So you see the sequence of how the silver formed in the first place, illustrated in the specimen. It is a heavy, extremely rich piece ! The silver is bright with great luster and the crystals, to .5 cm across are mostly spinel twins. The overall effect of the flat lying crystals is that of a head of hair. Fascinating piece with great complexity in person, from a rare specimen locale today!
