SILVER on matrix - large old classic!

Item Description

This is a classic from the old mining days at Pribram's deep silver mine, and is a solid, hefty mass of intrictately crystallized "birdsnest" or "wire" silver that intertwines to form a tick and robust mass. This specimen is HUGE for the material, and is also aesthetic because of its vertical shape and the perch on a sparing bit of nice contrasting matrix. It is complete all around and looks good from any side. Mass is a huge 875 grams (just over 2 pounds in weight)! Ex an old private collection in Austria, this was valued $3000-4000 (quite fairly, I thought!). We were asked to put it to auction. Note: This consignment item starts at $999, please note.
