Chinese minerals seem to redefine collector expectations for "European Style" minerals, time after time after time: bigger and more calcites, fluorites; and recently the silvers that look a lot like old Norway and German silvers. This elegant specimen has sharp and robust curly wires of silver, forming an all around 360 degree display cluster on well trimmed matrix. The wires are robust and unbendable, unlike many. The main cluster stands 2.5 cm tall. It is exquisite in detail, and the more you look, the more mesmerizing it is. And, as you can see from the label, Jack paid to play when he loved the look of something from a new find (he bought this early in Chinese silver appearance to the market); although we think this is more like a $4-5,000 specimen in modern context looking back on what came out. Still, if you are all about aesthetics, and not size per se, this is a special piece - and remains so.
