Silver on Copper w/ Calcite (D. Trinchillo Sr. Coll.)

Item Description

An aesthetic miniature of intergrown "leaves" of densely packed spinel-twinned copper crystals with a preferential coating of silver on both the front and back. Free-standing copper spinel-twins and a couple of glassy calcites are nice accents. The upright leaf looks just like a sail. Copper with silver combination specimens of this sculptural quality are very uncommon from the White Pine Mine. It looks great from either side. Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $100, for free. Ex Daniel Trinchillo Sr. Collection and was offered at a recent Natural History auction with an estimated value of $1000-1400.
