Item Description

One of the famous 'half-breeds' from Michigan, this is a mix of distinctive (rather than densely intermixed) Silver and Copper in which both species maintain their individuality. The Copper is subhedral to massive but has interesting form, while the Silver crystals rise out of and above the Copper. The Silver crystals are elongated, with a habit that ranges from feathery but rounded to blocky. Some of the Silver is tarnished and contrasts beautifully with the brighter Silver. Both the Silver crystals and the Copper crystals reach about 1.7 cm in size. This is a very good, nicely crystalized specimen from the well-known Copper country of Michigan. Well-formed, isolated Silver crystals on Copper are rare. Originally valued at $8,000 on a dealer label from the 1990s. this is a very fascinating and nice specimen, hefty in person!
