Item Description
The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is one of the world's great copper-producing areas. And while it is best known for its copper, which was found in great quantity and quality, some of the most desirable examples are the uncommon combination of silver with copper. This beautiful historic specimen features attractive bright metallic crystalline silver growing on top of underlying native copper. A showy and fine quality large thumbnail / toenail-sized example of this historic and prized material from one of the great mining areas in the United States. It's rare to get display quality specimens of this material in this particular size range, and this one would make a great addition to any native element suite or a competitive thumbnail / toenail display. Valued $1,500.
Ex Colin Manlove Collection.
