Item Description

Batopilas Silvers are some of the most easily recognizable, dramatic and highly sought after Silver specimens from the Western Hemisphere. Batopilas is justifiably famous for the "herringbone style" Silver crystals, which have been found there only several times over 120 years of mining. Technically, all of these elongated crystals are actually spinel twins, which creates the incredible 'feathers' that you see here. This is an outstanding piece, with a spinel-twin feather that is 3 x 1.8 cm. Overall, this is a highly attractive classic Silver specimen from this important Mexican locality. This is a mesmerizing miniature that would be an important addition to most any collection. valued $1250
