Item Description

A gorgeous and showy display specimen of these elusive Silvers from the Bouismas Mine in Morocco featuring a notably sharp and defined elongated crystal measuring 2.2 cm, aesthetically flaring off a matrix of Calcite and host rock. It should be noted that most of the specimens from this locality have the Calcite etched away to expose the Silver, but this piece appears to be UN-etched, as upon close inspection, I can see actual scalenohedral Calcite crystals, still intact and unaltered! This locality was short-lived, as a small vein was mined from 2008 to spring 2010 according to the entry on mindat.org. Most of the Silvers I've seen from this locality are somewhat "spongy" or almost dendritic, so to find a piece with such an incredibly well-formed crystal with incredibly sharp euhedral faces is rare. One of the best examples we've had from the locality with regard to the excellent morphology of the Silver, and it's quite eye-catching to boot! Valued $950
