Silver on Acanthite

This is a stunning Native Silver specimen from 2008 finds at the Imiter Mine that resembles a coarse "brillo pad"! This style of Silver features innumerable wires rising from an Acanthite and Silver matrix with intricate recurving Silver wires everywhere. Most of them are very intergrown so it's difficult to follow an individual filament. The luster is brilliant metallic and really stands out in any display. The piece is beautifully balanced, aesthetic and shiny. Dr. Pohl loved silver so much and greeted these finds with much excitement, and actually regularly sent an agent of hers, German collector Paul Stahl, to help her obtain these directly at, and in, the mine, at the time. We saw photos of these in the mine, and were very surprised at the access given until learning that she literally bought a few pallets of silver and acanthite specimens.
