Item Description
Silver, chalcocite and secondary green malachite have pseudomorphed a fossilzed tree limb section on this rare and unusual pseudomorph from this extinct open pit New Mexico copper mine. "These logs were the main source of ore for the open pit mine, and high silver values were found in some of the logs. Some logs were observed at over 1 meter wide and 6-10 meters long." (pers communication from Phil Simmons - well-known New Mexico field collector, collector and dealer). Ex Gary Weaver Collection. What an unusual specimen!
